Our Lord is Risen!!!!!
Happy Resurrection Day!!!!! What a wonderful day to be alive! Truly alive! Our Lord, Jesus Christ died, that we may live! May we live each and every day with that knowledge in our hearts.
Today is Easter, and I could write to you about the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ, but I don't want to. Each of the gospels share his story in the following chapters: Mt 27, Mk 15, Lk 23, Jn 19.
What I want to share with you is who my Savior is to me and what he has done for me, for I am so grateful for my Lord. He is my King of Kings, my Lord of Lords, my Prince of Peace, my All in All. I truly do not know what I would do, where I would be without Jesus Christ.
I love you Jesus'. Thank you for being my LORD and Savior. And thank you for choosing to come here while I was a sinner and be willing to die for me, so that I may live. And if I ever forget all of the above and start to complain that life is "not fair," that "I do not deserve what is happening to me," may I borrow the words from a fellow author, Jennie Allen from her study Stuck, "You're right. You don't deserve this life. You deserve hell and death, and so do I. But God's gracious love for us provided a Savior who took our sins and died for them. He didn't deserve death, and we don't deserve life. It is God's grace that we have life at all." Jennie, I could not have said it better.

- When I am in the pit, he draws me out.
- When I am hurting, he puts salve on my wounds.
- When I see the world and myself negatively....he corrects my vision.
- When I feel down, and I don't love myself, he loves me for me....and then I love me again.
- When joy and laughter escapes me, he fills me up like a balloon, and I can't help but to smile and be overjoyed.
- When I look at my loved ones and no longer think positively about my relationships, he gently rebukes my behavior and restores them.
- When I want to scream and yell and be the last one to be heard, he holds my tongue and allows me to listen...to learn.
- When I am exhausted: mentally, physically, spiritually; he restores me, heals me, brings me back to life.
- Just when I think I can't take "it" anymore, he offers me a blessing of some kind. Usually, someone. :)
- He has touched our lives with such good people: loving, kind, generous friends... no, family really, that we could not imagine living our lives without.
- God's Word is a true blessing. It gives me peace, just reading the truth that it has to share. And when I don't understand, I ask God to reveal the meaning to me, and he does.
- And when I don't know what direction to turn, what the "right" action is....I seek the truth in God's Word, and I find the answers I seek.
- My health....the Lord has saved me in more ways than one, and the fact that I walk, most days, is a miracle in itself. I thank you Lord. I am not you and cannot do your job, so I screw up my health most days, but thanks for bailing me out. :)
- I love that I have a personal God that I can talk to, directly. He listens, hears my cry, and responds.
- When I no longer know what to pray for, he prays for me, on my behalf.
- Finally, although I feel I could go on forever....but I won't. Using the words of David, he pulls me out of the gunk (usually I get myself into) and sets my feet upon a rock. He sets my feet a dancing and puts a new song in my mouth.

If you have not yet dedicated your life to Christ. Choose today. For as in Adam all die, so in Christ, all will be made alive. 1 Cor 15:22 Choose eternal life. Choose Jesus Christ.
What a blessed Easter we were given! I think due to the long, harsh winter we had, the Spring colors seem more vibrant than ever! I'm so glad God likes color! I loved your list of things the Lord has done for you. The way He is involved in every part of our lives, is a great reminder that we serve a Living Savior! My heart's desire is to acknowledge His grace and mercies every day. I suppose I am a slow learner, but continue to surrender a little more daily. I am thankful God doesn't give up, and blesses our baby steps!
ReplyDeletePennie, I feel deeply blessed, that we get to do the baby steps together. Thank you Lord for my precious sister-in-Christ.
