Birthdays and sweating the little stuff.....

Hello!  It has been a while since I have written. I was preparing to celebrate a birthday. A milestone actually of my beloved sweetheart.  We celebrated with a bang, let's say that (he got to shoot his Revolutionary War Cannon).  :D  But in preparing for this celebration I began to reflect about birthdays.  People celebrate birthdays differently, some with a big bang and some with a quiet whisper.  To each his own I suppose.  I have always treasured birthdays.  You see, I was a very small baby and almost didn't make it, so I am glad I am here.  But during this season, God laid it on my heart to consider that it is not just a birthday.  It is a celebration of life. A celebration of CREATION.  He knit you together in your mother's womb.  Think about that. You are not here randomly.  Not now, not with this family, not celebrating this birthday at this timing.  It's a celebration of God's creation.  Wow. That struck me.  It makes me want to celebrate my birthday in a new way....I don't know how yet, fortunately I have a few months to prepare, but, with a new perspective.

I knew I was going to write about birthdays, so I prayed over my thoughts. I was angry about something going into my prayer, and I tried to push it aside.  It was quite menial, I thought in the scheme of things. I have friends going through big things and in the world there are people going through....BIG things, so my menial things; I thought, “I just need to just get over it already!”  Have you ever felt that way? Well, it doesn't work like that and I found that out. And you know why it doesn't? Because we have a God that created us.  He created our inmost being.  He cares about everything, including the menial things.  They aren't menial to him!  You are fearfully and wonderfully made, because He, the God of all the universe create you!  Not for what you have done, but for who he is.

If you have not yet confessed your life to Christ and you are thinking...that all sounds nice, but that is only for Christians, I beg to differ.  God created you too!  He loves you too!! Your worries are his worries, there is no difference.  The only difference there is, is that those who believe have their sins covered in the blood of Jesus Christ.  But so can you.... Just Believe.  Believe in Jesus Christ as your Savior my friend and Christ assures you that you will not perish.  I pray that for all who are reading this!!

How did we get from birthdays to salvation?  God is in all things.  And if we keep him front and center, we may struggle, but we will never fail.  May God bless and keep each of you!

  1. I suppose birthdays and salvation are linked as the birthday of our Lord and Savior lead to our salvation!! :-)
