Friendships....born to help in a time of need

Friendships are a true treasure, and I could not see that more clearly than I could this weekend. I went to the Extraordinary Women's Conference with several women. Some were dear friends that I have had for several years, some are recent finds that I cannot wait to forge ahead and get to know better and some I had only just met. Conferences are a wonderful way to bring together women who are new to each other, having only in common a sincere love and passion for Christ.  Scripture has so much to say about friendship, but today I chose a verse out of Proverbs.  Verse 17:17 says, "A friend is loyal, and a brother is born to help in time of need." NLT

Perhaps you are more familiar with the more common NIV version, a "friend loves at all times." But this weekend the second half of this scripture especially the NLT really came into play.  You see, I have some health issues, and often struggle.  This weekend, my Lord, surrounded me with friends, old and new who were, born to help in my time of need. They drove me when I could not. They guarded me when crowds became too much. Each were sensitive about my needs and ready to help any way they could. It warms my heart to think about it.  God knows our needs. And yes, I believe that as Christians, growing in our faith is also growing in compassion for others, but this weekend also reminded me that He puts friends in our path who love us, are loyal and who help in our time of need. Only he knows our needs and can match us with those who can meet them at just the right time. Our God, how awesome is he?

So I just want to say thank you personally to each of you who joined me this weekend; thank you for your help and kindnesses. I have not laughed that hard, oh my goodness, in a long time. Who knew, Christians can have a good time. :) May each of you reading this, be blessed with true friendships and laughter.  May you be comforted that your friends have been born to help you in your time of need.     We all need a friend who we can always count on. What I mean is, when you need advice, you may not like the answer, but a true friend will speak truth. Someone who will not have to ask, they already know you are falling into a pit, again, and they have a rope ready to pull you out! I believe God puts the right people in our lives at the right time. I thank God for you My Dear Friend!

    I am so thankful God gives us friends to offer encouragement, companionship, and love. I value those relationships so much. I love the way God places different friends in our lives for different reasons and different seasons. I think friendship is definitely one of God's greatest gifts. I especially love my Sisters in Christ that help me to grow in Him!

    I am so thankful for God's blessings regarding friendships. I definitely believe God gives us just the right people at the right time to help, encourage, listen, cry, strengthen, talk, & laugh together. Friendship is a gift that is often taken for granted but should be treasured. Choosing to surround yourself with positive Christian women helps us become better mothers, wives, & friends. "Carry each other's burdens, and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ." --Galatians 6:2

Why was Jesus Killed?

And when Jesus cried out again in a loud voice,  he gave up his spirit, Mt 27:50 I was asked the question Easter weekend, "Why did they kill Jesus?"  Great question!  Especially, why would the Jews, the chosen nation of God, whom God rescued over and over again in the Old Testament lead the charge to kill Jesus?  Let's go even further, the Jews did "evil in the eyes of the LORD" over and over again throughout history.   Yet, God gifts them with Jesus Christ, their long awaited Messiah (or Savior); and they send him to his death.
