Finding hope in a 10 speed bicycle........

Greetings!  It has been a while since my last blog. Too long! So much is going on in the world. There are bombings everywhere, we have South Korea test firing missiles and here in the United States, we had the terrible tragedy in Orlando. And then most recently the shootings in Dallas, Louisiana and Minnesota resulting in huge division that is happening throughout OUR country: white, blue, black.....it breaks my heart.  I think we can all use a little hope, yes? So I wanted to take you back to a time where I found hope in my 10 speed bicycle.  Now although this was a different time for some of you younger readers, I think you will be able to relate and maybe get a chuckle or two. I remember the Christmas that I got my 10 speed bicycle.  Oh the doors I knew that bike would open, all I had to do was wait 6 months for summer.  (6 months!) I digress.  During those 6 months I dreamed of all of the places that I would be able to go on that bike.  You see...

Happy Palm Sunday! "Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord!'

It is for freedom that Christ has set us free.  Gal 5:1 Greetings!  Can you just picture Christ, the Savior of the world coming into Jerusalem on a donkey?  The leaders of the Jewish world were not happy with him and were already plotting for his ruin, yet he enters the city as King..... on a donkey. Although the crowd today was shouting "Hosana!," and praising Christ as King, a week later, those same people were shouting "Crucify Him!"  And Jesus Christ who came here, as a man, to die for us, was dead.  Praise and glory that he rose again so that we may have life! So why did he come?  Paul, who was some kind of a sinner (aren't we all), was one of the Jews chanting "Crucify Him!"  And he went further, he believed that those who followed Jesus were blasphemers (one who mocks religion or claims to be God). And he was on a mission, hunting down Christians, and well, stoning them.  Until Christ appeared to him during his hunt and showed him that...

Stand Firm in the Face of Adversity...........

For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.  (Jn 3:16) Happy (belated) New Year! I want to open the New Year by sharing a personal story.  The topic of this blog is "standing in the face of adversity."  I bet that every one of you have faced difficulty in your life at some time.  I don't know what 2016 will bring, but I pray that my story will be a blessing to you. Approximately 15 years ago, I suffered a cervical spinal cord injury that has resulted in some very serious, life issues.  It has been a long, uphill battle.  We fought for over 5 years just to get a handle on what my condition was, what my issues really were and the cause so that I could begin to make a strategy to tackle them.  Along the way I have had to give up so much and so has my sweetheart. [Thank you B for all that you do!] So why am I telling you this?  Because I know in m...
